Gateway Venture Mentoring Service (GVMS) in collaboration with University of Missouri Saint Louis’s – Innovative Technology Enterprises (ITE), has developed a unique training program for small, entrepreneurial businesses, looking to grow.
FlipZone is a comprehensive, hands-on training program. It combines video-based instruction, peer mentoring, and classroom facilitation. The curriculum was designed by seasoned experts for established, small businesses looking to expand. Its pragmatic approach consists of nine interactive modules that walk entrepreneurs through the business life cycle, from planning through execution. Each participating entrepreneur will successfully build a customized 1-3 year roadmap for evolving their business.
FlipZone gets its name from the Flip Classroom Model where the typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. Short video lectures are viewed at home before the class session, while in-class time is devoted to exercises, projects, and discussions.
The FlipZone program is spread over 20 weeks with a new module every two weeks that proceeds step by step to establish a comprehensive plan for growth and evolution. During the first week of each module, participating companies will receive online video instruction and homework. During the second week, they will meet with other non-competing companies to present their efforts and participate in peer mentoring, decision making, and strategic planning.
FlipZone is developed by GatewayVMS and ITE and is co-sponsored by MTC.
